We have had 4 winning weeks and so many near misses adding to the entertainment and enjoyment of the Free Bet . On the up side we had Yankee with his two winning weeks on the bounce , the best word I can describe this guy as is immaculate and shrewed , I know that's two words but both fit , then we have Fellas, what can I say about him ? I knew I had a winner on my hands , I posted this after watching his selections after only 3 weeks and boy oh boy was I right ? The next winner was the lovely P'boro Canary who just appears to be brilliant , I always watch for his selection every week . On the down side for the season was my mistake on missing a selection , when there were two Pickers with almost identical names and I was just glad to get something on the Free Bet at the last moment and I missed a selection and we ended up with 6 selections and not  7 , I will admit I was heartbroken to have let you lovely old Pickers down , as it turned out it didn't matter as we had two wrong anyway but I felt it was right and proper to stand down from the Free Bet . But you lovely old Pickers would not accept that and the messages on the board and the p.m.s and e mails where of the same opinion ,which almost broke me up , o.k they did , including "kerennigna" who in his own words were "If you stop doing the Free Bet I will come over to that butchers shop and give you a bloody good hiding" . So thanks to you all for your support over the season , I have left the last dedication to the man that matters , the man that has helped me through everything , the man that watches me and advises me , the man who is my right hand man , the man that is the Free Bet personified , the "talented one" , Nutty Nigel.   Now remember all you lovely old Pickers I will do my best to get you the Free Bet for next season , I will now start practising in front of the mirror and pouring honey down my throat in order to get it word perfect , please wish me luck. arrdee. Yes I think this will be it for this season , I don't see how I can ask Billy Dixon for more than he has given us this season , he has bent over backwards for us , like going down with the Free Bet on a Friday and still honoring our bet with the 5 we had left , also Yankee's super bowl where he phoned countless London bookmakers to get us a price which must have cost him a fortune but he did  that for us . I did ask him a short time ago if his takings had improved since his sponsorship of the Free Bet ?, he said "no not appreciably so Ray but that's o.k. because I do  appreciate what you are doing for our club ", that is why I regard the guy as a real gem . It means more to me to get the Free Bet for all you lovely old Pickers next season than anything on the way , perhaps I will fail , maybe Dixmar Racing will bring the curtain down on the Free Bet , we could end up the same as the binners where no one loves us , Nutty Nigel has told me so many times that "everyone loves you arrdee" so I live in hope for next season , and you all know arrdee gets his own way in the end ,always have done since I was born and always will do , spoilt rotten in other words ,   arrdee.    Report

I really hope Billy D and Dixmar racing can find a way to accommodate the free bet next season and help provide FONCY with the money they need to develop City stars of the future. It has cost us nothing financially and yet the academy is £212 richer. So many near misses where we could have had more makes me believe that if Arrdee is successful in his negotiations with Billy ‘The Man’ Dixon we can make even more for the academy next season. I am proud to have been part of this and am proud that we are probably the only club in the world whose fans raise money in this way. There have been 40 weeks of the free bet and 63 different posters have made selections along the way. Each and every one of them have helped make the Free Bet the success it is. Yankee Canary got the final selections correct twice, Fellas and P’Boro Canary were the other successful selectors. Gorleston ‘Gentleman’ Jim had the most winning selections while Fellas had a run of 12 consecutive winning naps.
