...and ?

Loanees are a fact of life - get over it.

I would guess EVERY club in the Chumpionship had loan players last season.

yes but they are added to the squad, they are not the squad, we need signed experienced players with quality as somebody has pointed out near their peak, loanees are ok but not the be all and end all.

Sorry if my post has prevented some of you from having that total relaxing time in the sunshine. I dont exactly 'know' names but I am told that the left sided player is a flyer, in your face, and scores goals and is much to young to be Harry Kewell. But he's a sit up and take notice player. Of the others, I gather one player is late 20's and the other three late teens to early 20's. They are all proven. That's all I know. Sorry if some of you doubt me, but time will tell, won't it?

Sorry Ricky, but this is a total nonsense. For the period of their loan they are part of the squad. I wouldn't think Mr Roeder would have them training up the corner away from the 'other fully signed on gang'.

Loanees serve a purpose and I agree they are not the be all and end all. Perhaps this is a sign of how footy has changed, the big clubs in the Prem are too greeedy and have far too many players for their needs, they can only play 11 every week.

Yes Steve read again they are added to squad but should not be the squad, last season 7 was it, far too many, we need people signed to OUR shirt, not other peoples. I cannot believe a loanee from arsenal can have the same feel for club as a signed pro, they go back to club after a few weeks, We need a balanced permanent squad, build a squad spirit and all be on the same hymn sheet. Loanees however good can be counter productive, again i say check reults from january when the influx of loanees sent us on a downward spiral.

Re: IN THE CAN
iv got a feeling the left hand side player is nathan tyson, hes 26 so is 6 years younger than hucks, he sets up alot of goals and scores a few, hes very fast, got a great left foot and i believe hes out of contract. i believe we need loan players cos its the only way were gonna get real prem quility, and aslong as you get them from man u, chelsea or arsenal, these players have got something to prove so will give their all, i would say 3-4 loan players along with 5 perm players is what we will get ti jans window.

Tiny is 28 so he'll probably be one of the defenders.

James Brown, the ?Hartlepool? winger? Whichever club it was that Stepheson came from, I forget.

Anyways, the whole James Brown thing... that went quiet awful quick, many people seem to have forgotten that one. Maybe he could be our mystery winger?

The problem with loanees it seems to me (and I don't think which club we are talking about matters) is that it's difficult for them to be part of a Three Year Plan such as Norwich apparently have because you can't guarantee having the same loanees all the time.  If you lose a chunk of them, as can happen, you effectively start all over again the following season because it won't be the same "Three Year Team".  I would think it would make a Three Year Plan quite difficult in a league such as the Championship with three possibly big names dropping down each season.  Of course, on the other hand, if you keep most of them it will possibly work fine but I think it's a bit of a risky strategy if it involves a lot of them.

But perhaps GR can pull it off. As always in football, time will tell.

Its would be great to sign some people on a permenant (we need to infact) but don't write off all young loanees. I know the point of what your saying is "lets buy our own players" but Bertrand and Ched have been excellent loanees so far. Admittedly our other loanees haven't been quite so impressive but the ones who don't work get discarded and the ones that do we look to sign permenantly.

We just need some money to do so.

Late twenties reads Taylor to me... although it would be weird for brum to agree any kind of deal without knowing what division they are going to be playing in next season.

I think we need to look at players out of contract because thats the only way we can really sign players at the moment without to much speculation...

If Cahill had signed for Birmingham, then Martin Taylor would be wearing the Norwich number 5 shirt now. Even if they go down, he doesn't feature in McCleish's long term plans and especially after the Eduardo nightmare I think he'd relish a fresh start.

It ain't often, but I do agree with Ricky. I applaud us getting young hungry loanees, but if they are full season loans, then we should have a max of 3-4 and then the usual short term ones to boost the squad. We need stability....

I don't know how much longer I can continue the delusional long term optimism.
