Re: Hoolahan 250k buy out clause
I think GR is just trying to blow this kid up to help dig himself out of a hole, especially after his mismanagement of the Hux affair. Wait a sec,Hoolahan isn't a kid, he's pushing 26, he's at Blackpool and available for £250 k!!
Call me Mr Cynical but I'm genuinely trying to look on the bright side about all this, honest! As always, there is a bright side - at 5 ft 7 he should fit into Mark Rivers old shirt, making a handsome saving of £40

Apparently Doomcaster isn't too happy about the "high" £250,000 asking price!

spot on

i would realisticallly think only 1 or 2 teams at current may not go for him in our league

being palace - with several talented wingers

wolves - jarvis / kightly

saying that at that price then its bargain so both may go in for him

i dont think its straight forward as offering money and getting him! 10 or so clubs will be in for the kid

Could be the case of fastest finger first, you never know a club may have already got an agreement in place to buy him?  Hopefully that club is us but doubt it knowing our track record.

Thats how I see it as well. Given theres supposedly 7 or 8 clubs after him I cant see how we would be anywhere near pole position in terms of money, chances of success or general attractiveness of the club.

agree with what you said

but if norwich can move swiftly and effiecently my making a move for the player and impressing him then maybe this could be done

but longer norwich take the less chance of the deal in my opinion

As far as im aware blackpool have to accept all bids at 250K so no need to put a higher bid on the table. Gives us more for wages and bonuses.

Agreed, but unfortuanetly it gives everyone else more for wages and bonuses. As much as id like him, im not optimistic on this one (Assuming we are interested in him of course, not sure ive read anything other than press speculation to say we are - may be wrong though...)

One thing that hasnt been mentioned is we moaned about the level of buy out clauses in the contracts of Etuhu and Earnshaw, how annoyed must Blackpool supporters be that probably their best player will be leaving for just £250K!!

Re: Hoolahan 250k buy out clause

I seem to recall there was a fair bit of whinging when we paid £450K for Etuhu in the first place. If someone had disclosed then that he had a buy out clause of £1.5M, most would have rolled around on the floor laughing!

Re: Hoolahan 250k buy out clause
i honestly can't see how we can win a bidding war for any target -  we seem already to be  linked with players,  sniffing around, then catch a cold as they sign for other clubs.

unless we really do have £5m+ transfer budget plus wages?!<  how likely is that???
