Champions King’s Lynn scored 91 times in 42 league games this year – and leading from the front was prolific non-league striker/winger Joe Francis. The young striker turned winger set himself a target of five to ten goals when he joined from Woodbridge Town last summer but has blown his personal target out of sight, finding the net 23 times in 46 games to make himself the BGB version of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Woodbridge Town hit-man has been tracked by a number of football league sides since signing on for the Southern League champions King's Lynn. The 21-year-old who is a plasterer by trade has another year on his contract with the Linnets and is thoroughly enjoying his football, but admits he has ambitions to play higher. After helping the Linnets to the Southern League Premier title, top-scorer Francis will be playing in the Conference North next season. Keith Webb has already stated no deals have been forthcoming for the young flyer. Brighton and Sheff Weds are reported to be interested.
Having seen him play he is entirely left-footed and although talented I'm not sure he is ready for such a high profile move.
Lynn's record outgoing transfer fee was £60,000 when Mark Paul was sold to Southampton but his career fell flat however.
