How we enjoy football in Spain

I live on the Costa del Sol, East of Malaga and listen to all Norwich matches on Canaries World.

Of course you need some live footy as well, so we go to Malaga matches from time to time.  Watched the Malaga/Tenerife game last Sunday - their last game of the season - in a local Spanish footy bar.  Malaga needed a good result to get promoted to La Liga.  Just to set the scene there were ice cold bottles of San Miguel and free tapas. There were two TV screens in the bar.  Screen number 1 was showing coverage of Malaga match via broadband - blurred picture and commentary 30 secs behind the action. Also there was a 2 minute delay from real time.  Screen number 2 was showing another promotion/relegation battle with sound turned down.  That seemed to be in real time - and occasionally that coverage would flick over to the Malaga game and show a highlight - two minutes ahead of when it was on the screen no 1 which was showing the broadband game.  Are you getting the picture - confusing or what - it was definitely a challenge to the brain.

End of match - Malaga 2 Tenerife 0 - Malaga promoted - cue pitch invasion.  Both TVs switched over to something else.  We left satisfied that Malaga were promoted and relishing the opportunity to see Real, Barce etc here next season.  But the next day I heard the pitch invasion wasn't the end of the game.  There were 4 minutes left to play.  When the pitch was cleared and game restarted, Tenerife scored.  Happily Malaga did hang on and were promoted.

I love living here!
