Derby County have accepted an offer from Nottingham Forest for Robert Earnshaw for a fee in the region of £2M, just announced on Radio Derby this lunchtime.

he doesnt have to move house that means... just a short drive up Brian Clough way....
I look forward to booing that little S**t next season....

why exactly?
he came to our club, he did what he was supposed to do, he got paid to score goals and thats exactly what he did, in a poor team as well...
so he left us to get more money and play in the premiership? so in your career whatever it may be, if you were offered a better salary, a chance to work in a better environment alongside the best opposition to test yourselve, would you not?
MOTM - The Referee, a magnificant performance from him, 10/10 once more

no he didnt.. he came here to Shop window himself.. he had a clause in his contract that meant he had to leave if a bid of enough money came in for him... contrats this to Dean Ashton who didn't and who said publically that if the club werent challengeing he would look to leave.
Robert Earnshaw left for Greed... not the chance of playing in the premiership.. How come he meets Billy Davies at the millenium stadium, which was mentioned in the press at the time... and weeks later Derby, manged by David.. knwo the EXACT amount of the clause to buy Earnie out??? i'll leave you to work that one out...
the fact he is now playing for a side wheo, in all likelihood, will be back where they came from next may means he isnt actually that good is he? no one else wanted him so he has ended up at forest... and they can pay more than QPR, us, Sheffield utd or Cardiff can they?
Watch Robert Earnshaw Sign for someone else in a "big money" move next season too.. the blokes fast becoming a journeyman cast off and he took the pi** out of Worthington, Grant and the fans with his attitude... some people have very short memories...

Why would he stay at a team that was currently not even challenging for a place in the play-offs though? and as for the 'he isn't that good anyway' comment, just look at his record for EVERY single club he has played for (Cardiff, west brom and then us), and yes maybe in the premiership he is a little bit out of his depth but he was hardly given a chance (off the top of my head i think the stats says he scored 1 in 24, but 23 of these were a cameo appearence)...as a ccc striker, he will do the business of that there is no doubt..
as for forest, are you saying they cant afford wages more then us, cardiff or sheff utd? if you are then your'e probably mistaken their other then maybe sheff utd perhaps...forest are now owned by some millionaire who is ready to pump hard cash into the club, hence why commons is still there...and if you can afford to pay £2mill for a single player, the chances are you can afford his wages
Now im not arguing with you for the sake of it Jas, and when it comes to football of course rightly so people have different views and opinions, but i think some people expect footballers to stay with one club for 10years+, and whilst that would be nice (or not so nice with some players, haha!) it just doesn't happen these days

Me thinks Earnie would have stayed with City if it had looked like we were going anywhere, sadly it was quite obvious we weren't. We had a very poor manager incharge at the time who was bringing inferior players into the team and replaced Earnie with a vastly inferior player. I'd love to see him back, he's extremely prolific at this level and I'm keen for Norwich to be successful which means we need better quality players than what we've got.

the clause ditacted he wouldn't.. as soon as someone offered the money the club would of had to accept.

I think the acid test here Jas is, if he signed for us and banged in 30 goals next season, would you care about the past ?
It's getting a bit busy on this fence, nigel...

Earnie wouldn't have had to sign for Derby, it was a choice he made. And as I said, if Norwich looked in better shape I think he would have stayed. Unfortunately we were looking a bit rubbish and a better offer came along so he took it.

Premier League relegation battle with Derby or Championship relegation battle with Norwich?
Assuming you are a neutral, which Earnshaw is, I think I know what we'd all rather do.
