Man. United starlet rejected a loan move to Norwich to go to swansea

The worrying thing is that Ferguson suggested that he go to swansea rather then us...if that is the case, I don't think we should expect to see any young, up and coming united players ala frazier-campbell, indeed it looks like they're come mostly from chelsea.

Wenger was dissapointed with the lack of matches for Gibbs (which incidentally must have been the reason he started the last 3 games, not because roeder wanted him in the starting 11, because he wanted to get some arsenal youngsters in for next season)

sorry did I miss something?. 3 goals in 21 games. That is worse than Chris Martins record. The Welsh deserve him.
He shoots.......oh, and he misses.

3 goals in 21 games, in a weaker league playing for a country mile the best team in said league. Wow.

I believe Wenger's dig was more at Burnley who only played Randell twice. I also felt Gibbs deserved his place in the squad towards the end of the season, he certainly played with a bit more composure than Russell.

Gibbs was, and is, not good enough for our team, even in its current state! And how you can even compare him to Russell...
As Norwich beat Man Utd in their last meeting, and Utd are European champions, Norwich are actually the best team in Europe! :-)

Gibbs can toughen up and get used to the hurly burly of The Championship. Darel Russell can't do an awful lot to improve his touch, passing and general awareness on the pitch. Lovely bloke but rather limited. I know who I'd put money on to have the best career.

the point i was trying to make (and to be honest i didnt put it across very well) was the fact that ferguson was telling his player to join a team in a lower division, rather then how good the chap may or may not have been

There might be a logical reason for this, maybe Ferguson thought she was not good enough for the Champ and was better suited to league 2. He was not prolific and more than likely would not have banged in that many with us.

I suppose there is an interesting angle to this as at the time that we were supposedly using Gunny's links with Fergie to tap into the Man Yoo ranks for some loans, but Fergie was possibly telling them to go elsewhere.  But then again, perhaps he felt the lad wasn't yet ready for Championship football.

i think the bloke was aiming at the point that the player choose

swansea over norwich?

not how the player performed

Yeah but he didnt really choose did he we8wba, Ferguson recommended Swansea over Norwich and what young player at Manchester Utd would ignore his advice?  As said above, it could just as much been that Ferguson felt League 1 was the right level for him as anything else.
Dont Panic, I said DONT PANIC!!

Maybe Fergie thought he was more likely to get a game at Swansea, that he was not completely ready for the Championship and that the difference in standard between the top of Div 1 and the lower part of the Championship is not that great anyway.  In that scenario, assuming he wanted the kid to get games under his belt, Swansea seems the logical choice.

It's not always a conspiracy guys...
