Matthew Etherington, great replacement for Hucks!

Huckerby over Roeder and Day 10/05/2008, 2:58 PM

Etherington would be a great replacement for Hucks, realsitic chance we get him considering he's not in Hammers team and with Glen's link to West Ham, he's a similar player to Huck's but has the added positives that he defends, heads, and gets stuck in hard. Would be excellent to see him here next season. What you think?

I think his discipline needs some working on, especially with the reasons Referee's give cards for now, other than that, would be a terrific player for us, i could see him wanting to go to perhaps a promoted team or to a lower-premiership side....however Roeder has great transfer links and id love to see Etherington here!
Darel Russell for Captain!

West Ham rate Etherington at about £2 to £3 Million, so good suggustion but unrealistic!

If you looking for Premier class players then u can expect to pay premier prices. This won't cut. I would suggest Norwich look at the players being let go from the premier relegated clubs who will not be able to hold onto all their players due to less income for wages and other reasons. They should be good enough to carry Norwich to a promotion push, along with a few talented loanies like evans etc. Its estimated that a further 50 foriegn players will join the Premier before the season starts...which should leave some good choices for loanies who won't be getting much chance of playing so Norwich needs to choose wisely.

I for 1 have no idea why we have kept on a defender who would struggle to make the grade in a Div 2 team.

would love to see him at Carrow Road, think he's good enough for the prem. Him and a decent strong target man would rip the championship apart. Then a quick Right mid and Clever Forward would complete our starting attacking line up
Bally Smart, the (wo)man who got away!

If you read the West Ham message boards it seems he has a lot of personal problems , split from his wife and has alledgedly taken to gambling , and booze .
