Raise funds for the last time.

Now you lovely old Pickers this is the last Free Bet and its Devonshire in charge so lets give him all the help we can , there is quite a full programme from Europe, Spain , Italy, France, etc,as well as our own Prem and Scottish matches including playoffs so its there for us to pick up the results for a win to increase the winnings for our Academy.

I want to say a very big thank you for all your magnificent efforts this season you wonderful Pickers . The Free Bet is our very own haven where we can come to and be all friends as true Norwich supporters, a place where no shadows fall , a place where there is no animosity , no recriminations ,no anger at fellow Norwich fans , just us City fans trying to help the club that we all love , A place where we can have enjoyment and entertainment and above all humour which is the lifeblood of our being . I have a dream that one day all Norwich City fans will come and join us on the Free Bet , I know we can live as one big happy family all in unity all in love of our great club , that is my dream which I hope to see come to fruition one day . I do hope I am able to see that day come true . your very own ...Ray.

I want to thank Ray and Nigel for making this possible.  This is my favorite part of the boards, as it's all about goodwill.  No complaining, moaning or negativity here.  While its not like me to ever pick a game that the big 4 are playing in the Premiership I think I am going to risk the streak on those lovable, sweet millionares at Stamford Bridge.  Chelsea home win over Bolton.  Thanks Ray and Nigel for everything and as long as Dixmar will support us, I'll be here every week.  How about a baseball pool over the summer?  Now we'd really clean up.... Justin

anyways - reckon chelski will demolish a renewed bolton to run man u to the wire>!?

if the nature of the big bang was accelerating expansion, then its opposite(the big crunch)must be decelerating contraction.By translating these two states emotionally, its likely the big bang is love, while the big crunch is hate-the singularity, peace?<>

Hope its back next season RD as I don't know where I'd be on the first day of next season without it.

My pick this week has to be Reading to win away at Derby and secure their Premier League status. A risk but must be nailed on musn't it?

Despite it being a Sunday game I'm going for:

Celtic to beat Hibernian

Hibs put up a good battle to hold Rangers to to a draw in their last game. Celtic know they now have Rangers by the throat ( in pressure terms ) with all the games Rangers have to make up in a ridiculous time frame. Celtic are going to be highly motivated to tighten that noose.

Ardee you are the sweetest old boy on all of the norwich city related message boards and none of this would be possible without all the effort that yourself, nutty and everybody else has put into this to make it such a sweet place.

My nap this week is for reading to beat derby county. Reading will want this so much and I'm afraid derby have given up on any hope of finding any pride at pride park this season.

I have a funny stat for you too. Derby under paul jewell have managed only 6 points and no wins in 23 games. Derby under billy davies managed 6 points including one win in 14 games. So has bringing in jewell made any difference to their season?

Fellas 07/05/2008, 7:26 PM
Infact he hasn't even managed 6 points, only a measly 5. Smile [:)]

Ray,

You probably missed my post on the last "raise funds for..." as after me and Blah3 posted our comments the thread promptly dissappeared down the board swamped by the numerous "Hucks" threads.

So to briefly recap, Nutty's analysis of our seasons acheivments was great, I finished 10th, and realise that I can't promoted or relegated from that position no matter what my selection does this week, so in common with the average football club in similair situation nowadays I am using a reserve picker, my pet goldfish "Hucks" in respect to his parting namesake.

Hucks has considered seriously and has said "glub glub glub gulp" which all fish enthusiasts know means :-

Celtic to beat Hibs this week, they scent success in the league as Rangers will probably wilt under the heavy fixture loading they have, he also blew a bubble afterwards which means it's his NAP selection.

Cheers Ray and Nutty this little idea of yours was brilliant, so entertaining and enjoyable. Bless you both

Portsmouth to beat Fulham... I've got a feeling they may fall at the last hurdle.
Norwich City Football Club - ruining your weekends since 1902.

Arrdee & Nutty you really are the Legends of Norwich City, so lets not let all this Huckerby nonsense get out of hand. Great players come and go, but great fans like you two will be with us forever.

I was a bit shocked I was rated at less than 50% strike rate on Nutty's stat sheet. I thought I'd done ok this season, but I suppose all gamblers think they do better than they really do! I would like to know what my % was Nigel, if you would be so kind, so I can look to do better next year - assuming Arrdee uses his sugary sweet tongue and bribes Billy Dixon with some of his finest sausages!

Anyway - Nap for the week has to be BAYERN MUNICH away win against Duisberg. No real reasoning behind it, just looks the best bet to me, since my lovely Blue Square Prem has finished.

GOOD LUCK PICKERS!

I'm gonna head over to Germany for my selection.

Schalke04 V Frankfurt Eintracht    Schalke04 Home win.

Schalke04 are pushing for a spot in the champion league next season and should win this one.

Many, many thanks to arrdee and all involved in this great thread, I only wish I'd found it sooner.

In the voice of the Terminator  I'll be back.Big Smile [:D]
