Lynn didn't manage it but Salisbury did and they gained promotion over two successive seasons and are now close to getting into the play-offs for promotion from the Conference to Div 2. Would be great to see Lynn make the same progress. I wonder if one day Norfolk will have two clubs in the Football league.
Well, I was upset that the Linnets only drew even if no one else was !
Lynn huffed and puffed but ultimately couldn't blow soap suds into the faces of the students from Team Bath! I went to the game. I think nerves got the better of them so they didn't make the most of their chances.
However the result at Halesowen went in our favour 4-1 up only to draw 4-4 what a shocker, just imagine that happening at the Walks! The furore that would cause! We now have two home fixtures against Brackley and Bashley which should see us take maximum points. The trip to Gloucester could well be the clincher! If so the final game in Wales could be a celebration parade! I believe Keith Webb has the credentials to take us higher not only to the next level but beyond. He is well respected in footballing circles having spent so long at Carrow Rd and Colney!
It is a shame more supporters of the Linnets are not on here, yet! I read that the Kings Lynn score was flashed up on the scoreboard at Carrow Rd last week such is the interest in the rest of Norfolk! Maybe I'm getting carried away but I look forward to the summer to see what kind of players the club can attract. Saturday's attendance spoke volummes for the club, 2,336 for a game against university opposition! The 5th highest Non League gate outside the Blue Square Prem!
Yes it was a good result, but a relatively poor performance in the 2nd half. We just stopped passing the ball! 1st half we were dominant, controlling play and linking well, but after the break we were a pale shadow of what had gone before. At least we got the all important 3 points! Now we have to do the business against Bashley, and we have to be at the races, remember they did turn over Team Bath!
Having Joe Francis back fit is a major boost for the run-in with 2 difficult away fixtures looming! We need to take our chances in those games as it could all hinge on opportunities taken if Team Bath keep winning! We have to be ruthless in front of goal, maybe bring Danny Bloomfield back in a 3 pronged attack with Defty, that would mean Matt Nolan dropping to the bench. I wonder if Mark Warren and Mark Camm will play any part in the final reckoning? We need our big players for Gloucester and Merthyr, a repeat of our performance at Twerton Park would be nice!
I'm going for 3-0 on Tuesday night!
In this season and last we have taken on and beaten (comfortably) Eastbourne Borough, Bishops Stortford and Hucknall Town all teams currently playing at a higher level then ourselves, so the team our more then capable of holding their own at that level. Even at the Abbey Stadium against Cambridge Utd we played some good attractive football, but unfortunately lacked the killer touch and that cost us.
Looking good so far tonight 2-0 up against Bashley who are not a bad little team themselves, as it stands we are going top and looking good for the title, Gloucester will be tough but we should beat Merthyr comfortably. Agree with the person above poor second half from Lynn on Saturday should have finished Brackley but let them play and were nearly punished but we got the 3 points and that's that.
Come On the LinnetsSouthern Premier League Champions 2007-08?
Looking very good at 5-0 after 90 minutes!!!!
Great commentary from Radio Norfolk!
Top of the League and a great turnout from fans on a rainy Tuesday night! 16 Man of the Matchs , just great! Who said non-league football was dull?
Now 2 Gloucester to hopefully clinch a well deserved promotion and finish it off in style as CHAMPIONS!!!!
Norwich fan here, so forgive me that I don't know the answer to this, and of course I really hope for King's Lynn's sake that it doesn't come to this again but... HOW THE HELL DO THE PLAYOFFS WORK? . Is it one or two legged, are there away goals, how many games do you have to play, do you have to play teams from different leagues????? please help someone?
The Play-Offs are one off games between the 2nd and 3rd, 4th and 5th placed sides in our league. If the Semi-Finals are level after 90 minutes they go to extra-time and penaltys. There are no away goals - its a straight shoot-out! The winners meet in the Final.
All Kings Lynn have to do is make sure they beat Merthyr next week in Wales to guarantee themselves the Championship Title! Lynn have a far superior goal difference so no worries on that score!
I just hope Kings Lynn can get promotion so the Pink'Un isn't filled with negative stories from that OTHER Norfolk team who are in the Championship! I obviously want them to succeed as well its that I get fed-up with all the hard-luck stories coming out of Carrow Rd!
