Lynn can put Lambs down
Lynn have two league games between now & that cup game at the Lamb, but assuming that players stay fit they have a good chance of progressing, I feel. Keith Webb knows he has a good side by non league standards, & as they proved last season with victories home & away against higher league opposition, Hucknall Town 3-0 & Bishops Stortford 3-5 they are more then capable of holding their own. With the recent addition of ex Canary legend Craig Fleming to bolster the defence, opposing strikers may find the Linnets back line tough to break down. I would send out Lynn's strongest line-up for that game, Tamworth are struggling below mid table in the Blue Square North & would prefer an easier game in the third round qualifier. My team selection would be Howie; West, Warren, Fleming, C Defty; Frew, Melton, Fisk, Francis; Turner, Nolan. subs: Murray, Chapman, Bloomfield, J Defty, Harvey, Crane.

Surely this is a conspiracy to keep any posts about the Business House league or the other 'local' leagues down!

Nice one Cyril!

Re: Lynn can put Lambs down

In response to the above, this message board is for followers of the Linnets, local Ridgeons league teams, Anglian Combination sides & others! Who cares about the Business Houses league anyway, personally I've never heard of it! If followers of the Linnets would like to comment on here about the fortunes of their club, let them! As it is I don't see many posts besides my own regarding Kings Lynn F.C!

As Kings Lynn F.C are the best & most successful non league outfit in Norfolk, it seems bizarre that they hardly feature on these message boards. All I'm doing is trying to stir up some banter on here, as regards the Super Linnets! Which other club locally draws in over 1,000 people reguarly to their games?

Re: Lynn can put Lambs down

Thats the issue though isnt it.  Seems funny that Lynn get pages in the pink un paper but no section of their own on here.  In my opinion, local leagues is just that, leagues where all games are played within the Norfolk County FA region, not Bath.

Personally, unlike you though I dont give a stuff about the NCFC rejects that is Lynn, but care passionately about the smaller leagues, not just Business house (which for your info is the oldest most established league in Norfolk) league, but the REAL grassroots leagues of the county, afterall, if it wasnt for them, the FA would be skint.

But looking at another of your points, who do care about the smaller leagues?  You may not, but looking at the number of posts not just on here, but on other forums, more people than care about the Lynettes!

Nice one Cyril!

Okay you have a fair point about local teams playing within Norfolk, but I'm still going to stress to you that it does mention the Linnets by name on this board. I accept your point maybe Lynn should have their own section!

Re: Lynn can put Lambs down

Also how many Norwich City rejects are there at Lynn - not many! I wouldn't call them rejects either - Craig Fleming a stalwart for City for ten years honoured with a place in the Hall of Fame at Carrow Rd, Andrew Fisk a former acadamy product from Colney, he was given a contract under Nigel Worthington. The others being Danny Bloomfield, a former trainee who since leaving Colney has made a name for himself in Non League football at a decent level and Scott Howie who many moons ago was a reserve keeper for City. These players are either too old now for the professional game or did not have the required skill levels needed. There are a few age exceptions like Teddy Sheringham & Dion Dublin, a former Linnet less we forget who are still in the pro game but generally speaking age is a determining factor.

I'm not saying that grass-roots football at Norfolk County Level is worthless, ofcourse it isn't & I understand its importance to the F.A, but saying that people can't comment about Kings Lynn F.C or any Ridgeons league team even Anglian Combination, just because they play at a level that requires them to travel outside the borders of our county is like saying I don't want to win the lottery.

Hopefully some more relevent posts will appear on here in the coming days.
