Birmingham fans' protests at their board

Very interesting to see the reaction of Birmingham's fans towards their board after yesterdays game and it prompted me to think as to whether they have more or less to critiscise their board than we do ours.

On the face of it Gold,Sullivan and Brady etc have made funds available to their managers to be promoted twice in recent years aswell as making pretty decent money available to both Bruce and McCleish this season (how that money gets spent is hardly their fault).

Compare this against the way our board has set about overseeing our team destroyed over the past few years until we are now left with a fairly bedgraggled group of players with asolutely no semblance of us ever having been a premiership team only three years ago.

Seems to me that we have far more to protest about.    I often wonder how many fans of other clubs would have stood by so seemingly passively as we've done whilst our board ruin our club before our very eyes?

There wouldn't be another club in the country who's fans would put up with what we've had to endure over the last few years without protesting against the board.

I think its a bit fickle and selfish what they're doing, they'd be stuck in League 1 without gold and sullivan's money. They claim to be this big club, but they're not even the big guns in their city.

totally agree, someone tell me where it's written that club directors have to keep pumping loads of their own money into a club when they get treated like utter rubbish.

Did anybody actually read the reasons why Birmigham fans feel so upset with the Board? If so how can this be compared to our current situation? Are we the subject of a protracted takeover bid? Did we get relegated?

I think you'll find that this is mostly one notorious lot (Small Heath?) who if they weren't wrecking goal posts would normally be wrecking cars or people.  I'm pretty sure that it's not something we would want be associated with in any of the clubs we support.  If Gold & Co were to walk away I think they would be in serious trouble.

Apropos Mr Taylor, by the way, the venom on message boards (and not just from Eduardo's club) was astonishing - many of the "Glad you've gone down" messages linked it to that incident as a sort of "punishment" thing.   The nutters were really out in force from all sorts of clubs.  I feel sure that whoever Mr T signs for he will get a rough ride from the *usual sections* that, sadly, most of us have.  Even on the moderated 606 the vitriol was in full flight.

This is so true and many of us have been saying it for years. The NCFC board have got off so lightly. What makes me laugh is everytime there's the mention of protests, people ridicule the "organisers" so much saying it won't help so therefore the protest is bottled, etc...but how could it possibly do any more damage than that that has already been done by our gutless board?

Re: Birmingham fans' protests at their board

Its pathetic.  What are they protesting about, getting relegated or not spending money, becuase they have spent decent money.  As far as I am concerned they are all arseholes, we deserve to protest for many reasons, they, in my opinion do not....

I think the poor quality of the porn from David Sullivan's business - may have upset certain frustrated support......

In reality, I assume that the recent allegations concerning Mr Gold and Karren Brady in the media and their supposed questionable (behind the scenes) dealings, etc - may have something to do with it......Steve Bruce, who left them in 15th place and under pressure from the Brum board and that Far Eastern chap, Brucie went off to take the helm at Wigan, who were nose-diving to the base of the Prem but who survived.....May have been the catalyst......

Yeah I grew up in Redditch, just outside Brum, and have a lot of mates who are Birmingham fans, i can corroborate that the Small  Heath lot are notorious and not indicative of most Birmingham fans. Certainly most of the ones i know are not like that, and the ones ive spoken to today are disgusted at the protests.
