Former Canaries who played in the
World Cup:
- Peter Crouch:
Made 15 appearances for Norwich while
on loan in 2003 and played in the 2006 World Cup scoring
one of the goals in the 2-0 victory against Trinidad and
Tobago.
- Mattias Jonson: The winger who signed
for Norwich for the 2004/05 Premiership season, played
in last year’s
World Cup for Sweden and started in England’s two-two
draw.

Martin Peters: The attacking midfielder, who played 232 games
and scored 50 goals for Norwich between 1975 and 1980 scored
England’s second goal in the 4-2 World Cup Final victory
over England in 1966.
- Robert Fleck: The diminutive striker,
below, played in the 1990 World Cup for Scotland, scoring
in the 2-1 win over
Sweden.
- Danny Mills: A former Sprowston
High School pupil, he played during England’s 2002
World Cup campaign in Korea and Japan.
- Andy Townsend: The
midfielder played for the Republic of Ireland in the 1990
tournament in Italy and the 1994
World Cup in the USA.
- Martin O’Neil: The striker
who played 75 games for Norwich and then went on to manage them in 1995, captained
Northern Ireland in the 1982 World Cup in Spain.
- John
O’Neil: The defender was signed in 1987 as a replacement
for Steve Bruce but ruptured his knee ligaments in
his debut and never played professionally again. He appeared
in two
World Cups for Northern Ireland.
- Thomas Helveg: He
may not have won over many Norwich fans during his one
season at the club in 2004/05, but the
defender was a firm favourite in Denmark, compiling 104 caps and appearing
