The left-footed centre back is fast establishing himself as
a first choice and key member of Peter Grant's first team.
Strong and quick, Shackell made his debut against Derby and
since then, has rarely put a foot wrong in the heart of the
Canaries back four. Last season, he even added a goalscoring
touch in the last campaign with goals against Luton Town and
Preston North End. New skipper. Big, strong and imposing.
Clearly learned a few tricks from Dion Dublin last season
and his organisational skills have alerted Grant to his potential
as a future skipper. Credited with three goals last season
– but it should be a lot more.
