Berger special two minutes later had
Norwich back on their heels again,
only for Simon Charlton’s first
goal for his new club two minutes
later to put Norwich back within sight
of that elusive first victory. It
almost came. When not only youngster
David Bentley’s strike hit the
woodwork before the break, Canary
midfielder Gary Holt would see a stunning
second half drive shudder the Portsmouth
bar.
